New Mexico Lobos Edge Out New Mexico State Aggies in Thrilling NCAAM Matchup

73-72 Final Score Caps Off Intense In-State Rivalry

Aggies Fall Short Despite Strong Performance

In a highly anticipated NCAAM clash, the New Mexico Lobos narrowly defeated the New Mexico State Aggies 73-72 on Thursday, December 14th, 2023. The game, played at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, saw both teams battle tooth and nail throughout the contest.

The Aggies started strong, taking an early lead and maintaining it for much of the first half. However, the Lobos, led by Jaelen House's impressive 28 points, fought back to tie the game at halftime and kept the momentum going in the second half.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading baskets and neither able to gain a significant advantage. Jamal Mashburn Jr. and JT Toppin contributed 21 and 15 points, respectively, for the Lobos, while Teddy Allen led the Aggies with 26 points.

As the clock wound down, the Aggies found themselves trailing by two points. With time running out, they attempted a three-pointer for the win, but it fell just short, sealing the victory for the Lobos.

Despite the loss, the Aggies put up a valiant effort and showed their potential as a competitive team in the upcoming season. The Lobos, on the other hand, will look to build on this victory as they continue their NCAAM campaign.
