DHCP Vendor Class Identifier for Xbox One Updated
New Vendor Class Identifier for Xbox One
The DHCP vendor class identifier for Xbox One has been updated to "WEB MSFT 5 0". This change was necessary because the existing vendor class identifier, "WEB MSFT 50", is also used by some Windows-based devices. The updated vendor class identifier will help to differentiate Xbox One devices from other Windows-based devices on the network.
Additional Changes to DHCP Vendor Class Identifier for Windows Devices
In addition to the change for Xbox One, the traditional client vendor name for some Windows-based devices has also been updated. This value used to be simply "MSFT 50". Some devices will now show up as "MSFT 50 Xbox".
